LAHORE:On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, anti-narcotics operations are underway across the province under the vision of a Drug-Free Punjab. Providing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the last 24 hours, 199 raids were conducted on drug dealers’ hideouts, and 205 drug dealers were arrested. From the possession of these drug dealers, 55 kilograms of charas, 05 kilograms of ice, and 3819 liters of liquor were recovered. IG Punjab directed that special operations against drug dealers and smugglers be carried out with increased intensity. He emphasized that all individuals involved in the supply chain must be brought under the law and awarded strict punishments. He further instructed that operations against those involved in drug peddling around educational institutions and hostels should be intensified.
