Lahore:On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police rescue and relief operations are continue without interruption. Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the police is on high alert to assist flood victims and is providing all possible support. The spokesperson of Punjab Police, while sharing details, shared that the number of people rescued by Punjab Police so far has exceeded 257,000, which includes more than 104,000 men, 76,426 women, and 77,107 children. Furthermore, more than 320,000 livestock, worth millions of rupees, have also been shifted to safe locations. IG Punjab said that affected individuals taking shelter in relief camps are being provided with full security, food, and other necessities of life. IG Punjab directed police officers and personnel to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the protection of life and properties of the people. Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is in constant coordination with PDMA, district administration, Rescue, and other security departments to carry forward the relief operation effectively. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that more than 15,000 officers and personnel, over 700 vehicles, and 40 boats of the police are participating in the rescue and relief operation.
