Lahore:On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a dignified ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to pin promotion ranks on officers promoted from Inspector to DSP rank. IG Punjab, along with senior officers, decorated 23 officers with DSP ranks and extended congratulations to their families. A large number of parents, children, and family members of the promoted officers attended the ceremony.Highlighting the significance of the occasion, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the supervisory role and feedback of DSPs in both operational and investigation policing is extremely important. He added that so far this year, 4 promotion board meetings from Inspector to DSP and 5 from Sub-Inspector to Inspector have been conducted, through which 190 officers were promoted to DSP, 683 to Inspector, and 75 to Senior Traffic Warden ranks. In total, 599 officers have been promoted to DSP, 101 to SP, and 92 Senior Traffic Wardens to Traffic Officer rank. Additionally, 3,167 Sub-Inspectors have been promoted to Inspector and 1,068 Traffic Wardens elevated to Senior Traffic Warden ranks.IG Punjab further said that promotions and welfare are the fundamental right of every officer and personnel, which are being provided on time. He directed officers to respond to these promotions and welfare measures by serving the citizens with selflessness and protecting them without fear. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the Punjab Police is ensuring easy access to justice through modern technology, advanced information, and efficient service delivery. He also highlighted that recruitment, promotions, and postings are being made fully transparent with the use of digital technology. The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Establishment-II Capt. (R) Liaqat Ali Malik, along with other senior officers.
