LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that historic and fundamental steps are being taken in the health sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with a focus on providing the best healthcare facilities to the people.He was chairing the 101st meeting of the Board of Directors of the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company (PHIMC) on Thursday.The minister appreciated the efforts of Secretary Health Azmat Mahmood Khan, CEO PHIMC Dr. Ali Razaq, and board members for the successful implementation of the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Program, the Special Initiative for Transplant Program, and the Dialysis Program, all launched under the directives of CM Maryam Nawaz.Various agendas of PHIMC were presented, and a detailed brieing was given on different health projects initiated by the Punjab government. The meeting also reviewed the third-party report on the Health Facilitation Program, while the use of Coablation technology was also discussed.Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Azmat Mahmood Khan, Chairman CM Advisory Committee on Cardiology Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Prof. Masood Sadiq, CEO Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr. Saqib Aziz, Dr. Zahid Pervez, Dr. Shujaat Ali, and Director PITB Nosheen Fayyaz attended the meeting, with several members participating via video link.
