ISLAMABAD,:Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq chaired a high-level meeting to review the overall crime situation, performance of police zones and progress on ongoing investigations across the federal capital.An official told APP on Wednesday that the meeting was attended by SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan, Zonal SPs, SP Dolphin, and SP Security and Administration Operations. The performance of all zones was comprehensively reviewed, and directions were issued for the swift disposal of pending cases.DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq instructed officers to ensure the arrest of accused involved in serious crimes, including murder and attempted murder, and to apprehend proclaimed offenders without delay. He further directed all officers to make patrolling more effective and purposeful and to maintain a visible police presence in the field.He emphasized a comprehensive crackdown against active criminal gangs, with strict legal action against illegal arms holders, drug dealers, and land grabbers.DIG Tariq said that all available resources should be utilized to ensure the elimination of crime from the capital. He reaffirmed that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
