ISLAMABAD:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Shahzad Town team, under the command of Station House Officer (SHO) Ashfaq Warriach, conducted a series of four successful operations, arresting five criminals involved in narcotics, illegal arms possession, theft and murder cases.An official told APP on Wednesday that the actions were carried out on the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, supervised by SP Shoaib Masood and SDPO Inzamam Khan.In the first operation, the police apprehended two drug dealers — Rasheed son of Abdul Rasheed and Muhammad Khaqib son of Muhammad Kabir — and recovered 1,745 grams of hashish and 250 grams of ice in total. Separate cases were registered under CNSA sections 9(1)3b/c and 9(2)4.In the second operation, accused Faisal Khan son of Naseeb ur Rehman, resident of Dhoke Majuhan, was caught possessing an illegal MP5-style 30-bore pistol with ammunition. A case was registered under the Arms Ordinance 1965.In the third operation, the police arrested Sajid Raheem son of Rahim, a proclaimed offender wanted in a 2022 murder case (FIR No. 20/22). The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to Shahzad Town Police Station for further investigation.In the fourth operation, accused Yousaf son of Muhammad Yousaf, a resident of Kasur, was arrested for his involvement in snatching and theft incidents, and a case was registered under Sections 379/411 of PPC.DIG Operations Muhammad Jawad Tariq and IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi praised the performance of SHO Ashfaq Warriach and his team, commending their effective crackdown on criminals.Local residents and members of the civil society also lauded the efforts of Shahzad Town Police. SHO Ashfaq Warriach said that operations against drug dealers and criminal elements will continue without discrimination, adding that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of ICT Police.
