LAHORE:The Punjab government has approved a substantial subsidy of Rs 9.5 billion for its tractor scheme, aimed at supporting farmers with access to affordable machinery.According to official sources, the subsidy budget has been made available online by the Punjab Finance Department, and payments for tractor purchases are expected to begin soon.Under the scheme, farmers will receive a subsidy of up to Rs 1 million per tractor, allowing them to acquire high-power tractors ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower at significantly reduced rates. This initiative is designed to ease the financial burden on farmers and boost agricultural productivity across the province. The tractor scheme is part of the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to support the farming community and improve the mechanization of agriculture, enhancing efficiency and output.
