IG Punjab determined to ensure best medical treatment for police employees’ special children

Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is determined to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the special children of police employees. Punjab Police spokesperson while sharing details, said that this year, funds exceeding Rs. 157.5 million have been issued for the medical treatment of special children of police employees serving in Lahore and various other districts. During the current year, Rs. 31.54 million were released for cochlear implant surgeries of 19 children. A total of Rs. 76.5 million have been provided to 677 children suffering from cerebral palsy, at the rate of Rs. 10,000 per month. Similarly, Rs. 21.5 million were issued to 164 children affected by thalassemia, at the rate of Rs. 15,000 per month for their medical expenses. For the treatment of 83 children suffering from various serious diseases, more than Rs. 13.76 million were provided. Moreover, Rs. 8.65 million were released for 18 children suffering from cancer and bone marrow transplant conditions. For major heart and kidney surgeries, Rs. 4.28 million were granted to 17 children, while Rs. 1.22 million were issued for 17 children suffering from hearing impairments. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the best possible measures are being taken for the treatment of police employees’ children suffering from various serious illnesses. Under MOUs with several renowned hospitals, medical facilities are being provided to police employees’ children at concessional rates. He further added that excellent welfare efforts are being made to make the lives of police employees’ special children easier and dignified.
