Dr Randhawa directed the officers to expedite work in Sector C-14, noting that road infrastructure, horticulture and internal electrification were advancing steadily. He instructed the early completion of street lighting, drainage, sewerage and water supply systems, emphasizing that electricity supply works should also be finished “as soon as possible.”In Sector C-15, the chairman was informed that sub-base work had been completed on 17 roads, while the remaining development contracts had been awarded. All road infrastructure is expected to be completed by March next year.Briefings on Sectors E-12 and I-12 revealed steady progress in sub-sectors 2 and 3 of E-12, with tendering for sub-sector 4 expected to conclude shortly. The TST (road surfacing) work in Sector I-12 is scheduled for completion this month. To ensure sustained progress, Randhawa directed that sector development officers maintain regular field presence and guarantee the installation of permanent street lighting, as well as water and sewerage systems, across all active sites. He also called for the early handover of possession to allottees in newly developed sectors, adding that residential expansion was a key component of Islamabad’s broader urban development plan. “Alongside major infrastructure projects, timely sector development to meet citizens’ housing needs remains one of our top priorities,” he said. The newly formed working groups will prepare detailed plans for infrastructure rehabilitation, landscaping, and the provision of modern amenities in older sectors, aiming to restore and enhance Islamabad’s urban environment. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Members Talat Mahmood (Administration and Estate), Tahir Naeem (Finance), Syed Nafasat Raza (Engineering), Dr Khalid Hafiz (Planning & Design), and Esfandyar Baloch (Environment), as well as Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, and officials from the Engineering, Planning, Environment and Estate Wings.
