LAHORE:Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Cap (retd) Muhammad Ali Zia Thursday chaired a meeting of the commercial banking circle at the Zonal Office Lahore to review its overall performance.During the meeting, the circle in-charge gave a detailed briefing on ongoing investigations and case progress. The director issued comprehensive instructions to further improve the agency’s performance, stressing that responsibilities should be assigned to investigation officers in accordance with the number and complexity of cases to enhance both the pace and transparency of investigations. He said that investigations must be completed with the highest professional standards, ensuring evidence is strong, well-documented, and no aspect of any case remains incomplete or weak.
Director Ali Zia directed that coordination with banks be further strengthened for timely acquisition of records, and any delays or difficulties in obtaining documents be immediately reported at a higher level.
He instructed investigators to make full use of modern forensic tools, digital analysis, and technical support related to banking systems to ensure strong and transparent challans are presented in courts. Officers were also directed to maintain continuous liaison with relevant bank officials and complainants to ensure timely progress at every stage of the investigation. He warned that negligence in mega fraud and high-profile cases would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He stressed that documentary evidence is critical in banking fraud and financial crimes, and officers must thoroughly review case files before court proceedings to present a strong stance and avoid unnecessary delays.
