LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Thursday distributed modern laptops among 41 children of police martyrs during a ceremony held at the Central Police Office.According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the recipients included male and female students enrolled in various disciplines, including medical, engineering and information technology.Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said that a total of 308 children of police martyrs had so far been provided laptops through Punjab Police welfare funds, including 106 during the current year. He said that access to modern laptops would play a vital role in enhancing students’ academic performance, professional growth and skills development.
He added that all available resources were being utilised to ensure the welfare and well-being of the families of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. He further said that scholarships were also being provided to children of police martyrs for higher education in national and international institutions.The spokesperson said that among the recipients, 15 students belonged to Lahore, three each from Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan and Jhang, while two each were from Nankana Sahib, Sargodha and Khanewal. One student each from Gujranwala, Narowal, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Multan, Pakpattan, Attock, Faisalabad, Special Branch and Telecommunication Punjab also received laptops.At the conclusion of the ceremony, the IGP extended his best wishes to the students for their academic success and prayed for their bright future.
