In the past 24 hours, a total of 37 individuals identified as professional beggars were taken into custody and shifted to lock-ups.Officials said the campaign is being carried out on a daily basis to address the issue in public spaces. Teams are conducting operations in markets, traffic signals, and other busy locations where such activity is frequently reported. The administration has called on citizens to support these efforts. Residents have been asked not to encourage begging and to help authorities by identifying and reporting individuals involved in it. Officials said public cooperation is necessary to reduce the presence of such elements in the city. For reporting, citizens can contact the control room 051-9108084 at any time. The helpline is available 24/7 and is meant to receive information related to begging and other civic issues.Authorities said that information shared by the public will help improve response and assist teams in taking timely action. They added that the campaign will continue in the coming days with a focus on enforcement and public awareness. The administration has also indicated that further steps may be taken based on the situation, including coordination with relevant departments to handle cases involving organized groups.
