ISLAMABAD:A full-scale airport emergency exercise was successfully carried out at Turbat International Airport on Thursday in line with standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and national aviation safety regulations.The exercise aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Crisis and Emergency Response Plan (CERP), particularly in the areas of communication, command, coordination, and response time between all participating agencies.Senior officials and dignitaries attended the activity, including the Commanding Officer of PNS Siddiq, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kech, OC Airport Security Force (ASF), G1 Army FOB, OI/C FB Zonal Headquarters PNS Siddiq Turbat, along with representatives from various airlines, PAA officials, and other stakeholders.Airport Manager Muhammad Ilyas Barrech conducted a detailed briefing and later presided over the debriefing session following the air-side live demonstration of emergency response operations.Multiple agencies took part in the drill, including Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) of Pakistan Airports Authority, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, ASF, and the District Health Administration.The exercise effectively tested inter-agency coordination, communication networks, and the response speed of all teams involved. It also confirmed quick access to the airfield by emergency responders, with only minor areas identified for further improvement.Officials noted that the successful execution of the Full-Scale Airport Emergency Exercise 2026 has further bolstered aviation safety standards and reinforced operational preparedness at Turbat International Airport.
