Sindh govt opposes Punjab govt decision to set support price of wheat at 3,000

KARACHI: The provincial Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development, Mr. Ismail Rahu has termed the Punjab government’s decision to set the support price of wheat at Rs 3,000 as an enemy of farmers and further said that Pervez Elahi government should immediately withdraw the decision to set the support price of wheat at 3 thousand per maan. Pakistan People’s Party has always given better price of sugarcane and wheat to the farmers than other governments.
Mr. Rahu has further said in his statement that the Punjab government should be aware of the increase in the prices of DAP, urea fertilizer and diesel, then the price of 3 thousand rupees is too low for the farmers. PTI is an anti-labour party, this decision of Imran Khan will destroy farmers and agriculture, it is exploitation of farmers and farmers of the province that produces the most wheat.
He said that due to this decision of the Punjab government, Pakistan may suffer from food shortage, while the farmers of Punjab are disappointed because of not getting a good price for wheat.
