RAWALPINDI: On the directions of Provincial Government to beef up health facilities in Rwp in connection with Long March, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Saqib Manan, chaired high level meeting.
While reviewing the basic health facilities, he said that all the arrangements should be completed before the participants of the march reach Rawalpindi.
He said that not only the participants of the march but the safety of the lives and property of the residents of Rawalpindi is our first priority for which foolproof security will be arranged.
He directed the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi to take on board the private hospitals and keep them in close touch with the allied hospitals.
The police were directed to arrange a mock-exercise in collaboration with the hospital administration. Saqib Manan directed the Municipal Corporation and the City Traffic Police to remove encroachments especially from the side of Fawara Chowk so that there is no problem in accessing the hospital there.
In this review meeting held at Commissioner Office Rawalpindi, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (R) Shoaib Ali, Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Syed Nazarat Ali, CPO Rawalpindi, Principal Rawalpindi Medical University Dr. Muhammad Umar, MS of Allied Hospitals , Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Ansar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Marzia Saleem, District Officer Rescue 1122 Hamza Khan and the heads of the concerned departments participated.
On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar shared a detailed plan to deal with the emergency situation to Rawalpindi Medical University and the three allied hospitals. He said that the plan for deployment of all necessary medicines, dedicating beds fir emergency and staff has been completed in the hospitals as part of the early measures.
The police informed that the administration is in close contact with the local leadership to ensure the security of the participants and to ensure a peaceful march. Apart from this, 6000 additional police force will also be deployed at hospitals and routes. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division directed the traffic police to ensure public awareness of alternative routes for traffic during the march.
