ISLAMABAD: General Ìsmail Güneykaya, Combat Commander of the Turkish Air Force, met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters Wednesday. The discussions centered around critical areas of mutual interest, emphasizing bilateral training, joint ventures, and potential collaborations within the aviation industry.

The meeting highlighted the strong historic and religious ties between Turkey and Pakistan, emphasizing their strategic partnership.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu outlined Pakistan Air Force’s comprehensive modernization strategy, focusing on emerging technologies, infrastructure development, and restructuring of training programs.
Recognition was given to the Turkish Air Force’s participation in Exercise Indus Shield, with a commitment to strengthening military-to-military cooperation.
Pakistan Air Force expressed dedication to providing training and capacity-building assistance to the Turkish Air Force.
General Ìsmail Güneykaya commended Pakistan’s progress in developing an indigenous aviation industry and expressed interest in enhancing ties further.

The visiting dignitary expressed interest in exploring training opportunities for Turkish Air Force pilots in the Combat Commanders Course at the Air Power Centre of Excellence.
Both commanders agreed to explore areas of cooperation through bilateral and multilateral military exercises, emphasizing collaboration in future technology-based programs.
General Ìsmail Güneykaya toured various installations and technological infrastructure at Air Headquarters, including PAF’s National ISR and Integrated Air Operations Centre, PAF’s Cyber Command, and the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park.

The visit underlines the commitment of both nations to strengthen their strategic partnership through collaboration, fostering robust relations between their Air Forces.
