ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Monday announced the formation of a joint team comprising health experts from Pakistan and Türkiye to identify areas where both countries can benefit from each other’s experience in the health sector. He shared these remarks during a meeting with the Turkish ambassador, attended by high-level delegations from both sides, where prospects for promoting health tourism and providing quality medical facilities to international patients were also reviewed. The meeting featured detailed discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector. Participants were briefed on the health systems and institutional frameworks of both countries, highlighting opportunities for investment and administrative collaboration in hospitals.Matters related to promoting public-private partnerships and exploring investment avenues to strengthen the health sector also came under discussion. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in the production, trade, and technology transfer of medical devices and other health-related products. The minister reaffirmed the long-standing, strong, and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, emphasizing the need to further deepen ties in the health sector. He said the proposed joint team would prepare a document identifying key areas of cooperation, adding that a “one-window” system would later be established through consultations to facilitate effective and streamlined bilateral collaboration.
