ISLAMABAD:Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Wednesday paid rich tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence, security and stability of the country, saying that the entire nation salutes its brave sons who rendered the country’s defence impregnable through their supreme sacrifices.In his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada, the Speaker said that Pakistan’s martyrs had demonstrated unparalleled courage, resolve and commitment in the fight against terrorism, extremism and external threats.He said that owing to the collective sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and citizens, the nefarious designs of anti-state elements had been effectively thwarted, resulting in the restoration of peace in the country.Ayaz Sadiq said that the sacrifices made in recent years by security forces, police, law enforcement agencies and civilians in the war against terrorism constituted an indelible chapter in the country’s history.Paying tribute to those martyred in terrorist incidents in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other affected areas, he said the nation stood in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and acknowledged their patience and resilience.He said the blood of the martyrs was a guarantee of the country’s freedom, sovereignty and stability, and stressed the need to renew the national resolve to carry forward their mission by strengthening unity and contributing to the defence and progress of the country.yaz Sadiq said Pakistan is a peace-loving country however, in the event of any aggression, the entire nation would stand shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces to thwart any hostile designs.He said that national unity and respect for the sacrifices of the martyrs remained the country’s true strength.Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said that Youm-e-Shuhada served as a reminder of the great sacrifices that had ensured a secure and stable Pakistan.He said the nation would always remember the sacrifices of its martyrs and remain united in fulfilling their mission.The Speaker and Deputy Speaker also offered Fateha for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
