CHICAGO: The Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted an Eid Open House at his residence to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on April 10 (Thursday).
The grand celebration was attended by over 400 guests, including members of the Pakistani-American community from all walks of life, elected officials, local dignitaries, Federal & State officials, representatives of Consular Corps, academia, and media. Consul General Tariq Karim and Mrs. Aasma Tariq personally received and welcomed the guests. The attendees lauded the Consul General’s initiative to bring together a large and diverse group of community members from across the Midwest region, along-with their families, and local officials to celebrate Eid. They termed the event a great opportunity to socialize and connect with one another. The festive atmosphere at the residence, adorned with Pakistani handicrafts and offering a delightful spread of Pakistani cuisine, made guests feel as though they were in Pakistan. Consul General Tariq Karim extended his warmest Eid greetings to the community members. He emphasized Eid as an opportunity to share happiness, foster unity, harmony, and compassion regardless of background. He highlighted that celebrating Eid together showcased our shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous world.
The Consul General urged the community members and elected officials/local dignitaries to play their active role in promoting Pak-US partnership. The event concluded with prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Pakistan.
