Lahore:An important meeting was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. The meeting was attended by Additional IG PHP Rao Abdul Kareem and DIG PHP Athar Waheed. The meeting discussed the infrastructure development, upgradation, and welfare of employees of Punjab Highway Patrol. The upgradation of the DLIMS control rooms, dashboards, and transport measures of Punjab Highway Patrol were reviewed. DIG PHP Athar Waheed gave a detailed briefing on the upgradation matters of Punjab Highway Patrol. During the briefing, DIG PHP informed that the mess of Jia Baga PHP Police Lines is being upgraded and renovated. He further shared that PHP employees will be recruited for the post of ASI under the P Cadet Scheme through the Public Service Commission.While addressing the meeting, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the personnel deployed at the border posts of Punjab Highway Patrol are facing the challenges of terrorism, and elite training is being conducted to enhance the operational capacity of the PHP force. He further said that the proposal for a Hard Area Allowance for the employees deployed at the PHP checkpoints in border areas is also under consideration. IG Punjab mentioned that body cameras will be provided to PHP personnel for better service delivery and to curb criminals on highways. The meeting was also attended by Additional IG Punjab, Commandant PC, Additional IG Training, DIG Welfare, DIG Establishment-II, DIG Telecommunication, AIG Finance, AIG Welfare, and other senior officers.
