Gujranwala :Anti-Corruption and Judicial Magistrate conducted a raid and arrested a Gurdwara and a former building inspector on charges of bribery. This operation was carried out under the supervision of DG Anti-Corruption Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha and on the instructions of Director Anti-Corruption Gujranwala Division Amjad Shahzad. It has been reported that Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Narowal Akhtar Mahmood along with Judicial Magistrate Naseer Rasheed conducted a joint raid and arrested Grade 11 officer Gurdwara Muhammad Ashfaq red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. Marked notes were also recovered from the accused. In another operation, Circle Officer Anti-Corruption Gujarat Afzal Gujjar arrested former building inspector Muhammad Siddique. He is accused of having constructed a five-star marriage hall without the approval of the map and causing a loss of crores of rupees to the government treasury in this regard. Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Rana Shabbir Ashraf said that falsifying government records and damaging government finances is an irreparable crime that cannot be allowed at all.
