Lahore:Punjab Police Dera Ghazi Khan has achieved a major success by eliminating three criminals wanted in connection with the martyrdom of police personnel. The spokesperson of Punjab Police, while sharing the details, said that the three dacoits who had martyred ASI Ghulam Shabbir and Constable Ghulam Fareed in recent days have been sent to hell by the police in a successful operation. The slain dacoits have been identified as Rehmat Ullah alias Ranjha Sanjrani, Fahad alias Fahdi, and Asif alias Haji Sanjrani. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that Dera Ghazi Khan Police had set up a checkpoint at the location of Super Bund 2 within the jurisdiction of Police Station Saddar Taunsa, following intelligence about criminal elements. During this time, five armed suspects coming from the river toward Super Bund 2 opened indiscriminate fire upon seeing the police party. In self-defense, the police retaliated, and in the ensuing exchange of fire, three dangerous dacoits were brought to justice. It is worth mentioning that the slain bandits were involved in the martyrdom of ASI Ghulam Shabbir and Constable Ghulam Fareed in the jurisdiction of Police Station Saddar Taunsa. Two suspects managed to flee on a motorcycle taking advantage of the darkness. The suspects’ firing also damaged the police vehicle, though the officers remained safe. A search operation is underway in the area to apprehend the absconding bandits. Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has commended the Dera Ghazi Khan Police for bringing the dangerous dacoits involved in the martyrdom of police personnel to justice.
