CDA Building Control Wing sealed 18 Illegal Construction/Buildings in Sector H-13

Islamabad: In line with the directions of Chairman CDA , Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence, Muhammad Ali Randhwa, an intensified campaign and enforcement action was conducted against illegal and non-compliant construction/ buildings within the Islamabad Capital Territory (I.C.T).In a significant enforcement action, the Directorate General of Building & Housing Control, in collaboration with the relevant formations, sealed 18 unauthorized buildings and commercial outlets in Sector H-13 today. The operation was carried out jointly by Directorate General of Building & Housing Control, Directorate of Enforcement, I.C.T Administration and Islamabad Police.The sealing action was executed strictly in accordance with the CDA Ordinance, 1960, and the Building Control Regulations, 2020 (as amended 2023). The sealed buildings were found to be in severe violation of regulatory requirements, including construction without approved building plans, unauthorized commercial use of premises, Illegal occupancy without obtaining Completion Certificates, Non-payment of applicable penalties and fees. Almost all sealed units had disregarded prior notices including Show Cause Notices, and Final Notices issued by CDA in order to complete all codal formalities.The first phase of today’s operation in Sector H-13 resulted in the sealing of the following 18 buildings/commercial outlets:

This enforcement drive underscores CDA’s unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance and the rule of law. The operation aimed to uphold the sanctity of Islamabad’s building regulations and ensure orderly urban development. These structures posed risks and violated established norms despite ample opportunity for compliance.

The Directorate General of Building and Housing Control issued a stern warning that further legal action, as per CDA laws, will be initiated against persistent violators. All stakeholders, including developers, builders, and property owners, are strongly advised in the public interest to obtain all necessary approvals, Completion Certificates, and clearances from the CDA before commencing any construction or occupying any building. Ignoring regulatory procedures will result in strict legal consequences.
