ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police teams have arrested 24 outlaws and recovered drugs and illegal weapons during various operations conducted in different areas of the capital on Sunday.An official told APP that the operations were carried out by teams from Golra, Sumbal, Tarnol, Shams Colony, Khanna, Kirpa, Humak, Lohi Bher, Shahzad Town, and Bani Gala police stations. A total of 17 accused were arrested for their involvement in various criminal activities.He said that police recovered 4,662 grams of heroin, 120 grams of Ice, eight pistols with ammunition, and two daggers from the possession of the arrested individuals. Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway.He said that in a separate crackdown against proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams also arrested seven wanted criminals during a special campaign.He said that following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the capital police are continuing their effective crackdown against crime and criminal elements to ensure peace and tranquility in the federal capital.He said the Islamabad Police is committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens, and no one will be allowed to disturb the public peace. Ensuring peace and protecting citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
