Lahore:Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar’s welfare initiatives for the force and their families are continuing, under which more than Rs. 1.5313 billion have been spent during the current year on the welfare of Punjab Police personnel and their families. Sharing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that Rs. 472.864 million were disbursed as educational scholarships for the children of police employees. Similarly, Rs. 434.135 million were provided as wedding gifts to the daughters of police employees. According to the spokesperson, more than Rs. 227.578 million were allocated to assist in medical treatment facilities, while more than Rs. 195.355 million were released as retirement grants to police employees. Under subsistence allowance, more than Rs. 140.962 million were provided to the families of police employees. For burial expenses, Rs. 47.150 million were given to the families of the force.Furthermore, more than Rs. 13.3 million were provided as immediate financial assistance to Punjab Police personnel. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that income from the Police Welfare Fund and welfare resources is being spent to resolve the problems of the force and their families.
