ISLAMABAD:Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police held a high-level meeting on crime prevention under the chairmanship of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq, attended by all Station House Officers (SHOs) across the district.An official told APP on Wednesday that during the meeting, the performance of all officers was thoroughly reviewed, and directions were issued to expedite the investigation of pending cases.DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq directed all police officers to ensure the arrest of criminals involved in heinous crimes, car and motorcycle thefts, and proclaimed offenders. He stressed that patrolling should be made more effective and purposeful, with all officers remaining visibly active in the field.He instructed for a comprehensive crackdown against active criminal gangs and stern action against illegal arms, drug dealers, and land grabbers.“All available resources must be utilized to eradicate crime,” the DIG Tariq emphasized, reaffirming that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
