RAWALPINDI:On the special directives of the Punjab Government, police have launched a large-scale crackdown across the city against illegally residing Afghan nationals and other foreigners. During the operation, 20 cases were registered in various police stations, while five property owners were arrested for renting out their houses to Afghan nationals, informed police spokesman on Wednesday.
Police also took 74 Afghan nationals into custody and shifted them to the holding center.Cases were registered at police stations Saddar Barooni, Jatli, Rawat, Gujjar Khan, Dhamyal, Taxila, Wah Cantt, Saddar Wah, Civil Lines, Morgah, Naseerabad, Pirwadhai, Waris Khan, and Bani.Police have strictly warned citizens not to rent or sell their properties to illegal foreign residents.Similarly, no individual should allow such persons to use their vehicles, rickshaws, or any other assets, or engage in business, trade, or employment with them.Police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any illegal foreign nationals in their surroundings to law enforcement.The identity of informer will be kept strictly confidential.The Punjab Government emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating these directives.
