ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad district administration has accelerated its anti-dengue operations across the capital, carrying out large-scale surveillance, fogging, and preventive measures in both urban and rural areas.According to the latest dengue surveillance report, 27 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, while 23,819 sites were inspected during the ongoing campaign.
Of the newly reported cases, 12 patients were from rural zones and 15 from urban sectors, the report said. A total of 42 patients are currently under treatment at different hospitals in the federal capital.
To curb mosquito breeding, field teams conducted fogging operations at 618 locations across multiple sectors and union councils. During surveillance, larvae were found at 150 sites, while one location was declared negative after testing. As part of preventive actions, the district teams also performed anti-dengue spraying at 876 homes and public places, focusing on high-risk areas identified through the surveillance data. The administration stated that strict measures are being taken against those violating dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs). Several premises were sealed and multiple individuals were taken into custody for negligence contributing to mosquito breeding.
