Lahore:On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a dignified ceremony to affix promotion ranks to officers promoted to the rank of Inspector was held at the Central Police Office. IG Punjab affixed the Inspector rank badges to 67 promoted officers from Faisalabad and Gujranwala regions. A large number of parents, children, and family members of the promoted officers attended the ceremony. IG Punjab and senior officers congratulated the promoted Inspectors and their families.Addressing the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that he is sincerely grateful to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her full patronage and trust in Punjab Police. He said that an additional one thousand posts are being introduced in the Crime Control Department (CCD), and an officer of SP rank will head the department in every district. IG Punjab said that the establishment of the Cyber Crime Department will also create hundreds of new posts, making further promotions possible.Dr. Usman Anwar said that due to effective enforcement of laws, citizens are acknowledging the performance of the traffic police. The helmet-wearing rate among motorcyclists has reached 100 percent, while a 900 percent increase has been recorded in driving licensing. IG Punjab directed SHOs to further improve complainants’ access, hearing, correct decision-making, and public service delivery. IG Punjab said that immediate and effective relief should be provided to citizens at police stations, checkpoints, on roads through enforcement of traffic laws, to visitors of Khidmat Markaz, and to victims calling 15. He directed ensuring the effective use of modern police applications including Artificial Intelligence, Smart Eye, Travel Eye, and e-Gadget. Dr. Usman Anwar made it clear that the crackdown on terrorists, thieves, robbers, drug peddlers, and elements involved in violence against children and women will be ensured at all costs. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Welfare and Finance Zeeshan Asghar, RPO Sargodha Shahzad Asif, AIGs, and ASPs attended the ceremony.
