LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has succeeded in getting approved a supplementary grant of more than Rs37 billion for Gujrat despite the ban. The grant of Rs 37.74 billion was approved in just a month, state the documents. Even the summary of the supplementary grant for the Chief Minister’s city Gujarat was not presented in the Punjab Cabinet. The approval was taken from the cabinet’s standing committee.
A supplementary grant of more than 15 billion rupees has been approved for the construction of flyover and double carriageway roads in Gujarat, according to the documents.
No objection was raised and no feasibility report was made. On the orders of CM, the bureaucracy turned a blind eye and approved the funds.
