SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khwaja Asif has said that the federal government is not afraid of the Punjab government while dubbing the cronies of PTI Chairman Iman Khan the most corrupt lot.
Kh Asif was holding a press conference in Sialkot on Saturday. He said that the federal government was not scared of the PTI-backed Punjab government. He said those who were supporting Imran, they were the most corrupt people.
Taking a jibe at former prime minister whose latest audio leak reveals his horse trading maneuvers, the defence minister said that Imran who used to equate buying of votes to ‘Shirk’ was himself involved in it.
“The true face of Imran has been revealed in just four months,” he said adding that in one of the leaked audios, the PTI chief was conspiring to make minutes of the cipher of his own choice.
Imran can’t be loyal to anyone, the minister rued adding that the former premier was not finding any place to hide his face.
Kh Asif said that Imran fought 2018 election under the slogan of accountability. Where his 2018 slogan has gone now, he wondered.
He wondered where the PTI chief’s slogan regarding Jehad (struggle) against corruption had gone. He asked him what happened to his other promises including providing 10 million jobs to country’s youth.
He said that Imran Khan had sent the President to the army chief after beseeching. “Later, Imran Khan contrived the narrative of real freedom. It is necessary to bring each thing to show your real face before the masses,” he maintained.
He said that Nawaz Sharif will definitely return to Pakistan. “Maryam Nawaz’s acquittal will affect the sentence of Nawaz Sharif as well,” he added.
About the arrest warrants of Rana Sanaullah, the minister said that the PML-N is not afraid of the Punjab government.”Imran Khan did not bother to go to flood victims during the calamity.”
