ISLAMABAD: In a major development, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched an extensive investigation into the production of counterfeit passports across the country. The FIA’s headquarters issued directives to all zone directors, prompting a widespread crackdown on passport and immigration officials.
So far, 34 fraudulent passports have been uncovered throughout the country. The FIA has not only sought records from relevant authorities, including passports and rare documents, but has also declared 34 passports as counterfeit following meticulous scrutiny.
The individuals holding these fake passports are now subjects of interest for the FIA and passport authorities. Concerns loom over the ongoing investigation, with the potential for more counterfeit passports to surface. Strikingly, pertinent authorities have yet to furnish records to the FIA.
In response to the Ministry of Interior’s directive, the FIA has swiftly accelerated its inquiry, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the issue. The investigation is gaining momentum, with the FIA dedicated to uncovering the truth behind this alarming situation.
