ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (NNI): Prime Minister’s constituted Steering Committee for Law and Order held a special meeting on Wednesday and expressed concerns over the rise of extremism and terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to a private news channel, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Wednesday chaired the meeting and despite the invitation, committee members from PTI, Ali Muhammad Khan and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif did not participate.
As per the declaration, the committee expressed its solidarity with the people of Swat against terrorism and conveyed regret and condemnation for the non-participation of PTI representatives in the meeting
The steering committee made a detailed review of the recent terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Swat. In the meeting, various proposals regarding complete control of terrorist incidents were discussed.
The issue of negotiations with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was also discussed in the meeting. The members expressed concerns over the increasing incidents of terrorism in KP and agreed to fight terrorism in the province.
The steering committee said that instead of politics, the federation will cooperate KP government to ensure public order in the province. The committee said extremism and terrorism are on the rise in KP, but the provincial government is busy planning sit-ins against the federation. The committee said that KP government should ensure public order in the province instead of politics.
Committee members MNA Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA Mohsen Dawar, Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam, former Governor KP Engineer Shaukat Ullah Khan and former Senator Muhammad Saleh Shah participated in the meeting. NNI
