ISLAMABAD : Islamabad Capital police apprehended 17 criminals and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, Capital Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chatha had ordered all Divisional Police officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people.
Following these directives, Kohsar police team arrested a lady accused namely Jameela Bibi and recovered 1125 gram heroin from her possession. Tarnol police arrested two accused namely Rizwan and Jibran and recovered two 30 bore pistols from their possession.
Similarly, Noon police team arrested an accused namely Numan Khan for possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. Shahzad Town police arrested an accused namely Waqar Rasheed involved in drug peddling and recovered 1240 gram hashish from his possession.
Moreover, the Nilore police team arrested an accused Waseem and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Koral police team arrested an accused namely Ijaz and recovered one dagger from his possession.
Furthermore, Sihala police arrested an accused namely Shahid Rehman and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, police teams busted nine proclaimed offenders from different areas of the city.
Capital Police Officer Operations Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard. “The officers with good performance will be rewarded while the officers showing laxity towards their official duties will be dealt with iron hands” he maintained.
