LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Monday revised the schedule of the long march as now the march will be resumed on Wednesday.
Expressing his thoughts, while meeting with the delegation of the journalists, Imran slammed the bigwigs of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), saying that it is not possible to go for the compromise with Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.
Talking about his long march, Imran said that the march would only be ended, after ‘achieving its destination’ and by getting the date of the elections as the entire nation is geared up. The former premier further stated the soldiers, who are performing their national duties at the borders are like his sons.
Giving his take over the appointment of the Army Chief, Imran said, “I have no issue with the appointment of the COAS as the Pak Army belongs to us and it is not possible to go against the army.”
Earlier, the PTI chief has written a letter President Arif Alvi and asked him to stop the abuse of power as well as the violation of laws and the Constitution.”I have no concerns over the army chief’s appointment”, Imran Khan told journalist
Former prime minister Imran Khan stated that since the removal of the PTI government, the country has been “confronted with an ever-increasing scale of false allegations, harassment, arrests, and custodial torture”.
The former premier alleged that he was informed of an assassination plot which was operationalized earlier this week during long march. Allah saved me and the assassination attempt failed, he stated.
He asked Alvi to lead an inquiry to identify the guilty “and hold them accountable”. -NNI
