ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital police apprehended 10 criminals and recovered hashish, heroin, hookah and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police had categorically started a crackdown against criminal elements in order to save the precious lives and property of citizens. Following these directives, the Phulghran police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Haroon and recovered 1360 gram hashish and one 30 bore pistol from his possession. The Shalimar police arrested the accused namely Rashid Shokat and recovered hookahs and flavor from their possession.
Similarly Tarnol police arrested two accused namely Saddam Hussain and Saqib Jalil and recovered 1275 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol from their possession. Moreover, Golra police arrested two accused namely Muhammad Shakar and Muhammad Zahid involved in illegally patrol selling. Kirpa police arrested accused Muhammad Jameel and recovered 1020 gram hashish from his possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
During a special crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders police teams arrested three accused from different areas of a city. IGP Islamabad said that the safety of lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
