ISLAMABAD: Islamabad capital police apprehended 14 outlaws including eight professional beggars’ handlers and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Sangjani police team arrested two accused namely Yasir and Bilal and recovered 2040 gram hashish and one 30 bore pistol from their possession, while police team arrested an accused namely Inam Ullah involved in illegally selling gas.
Similarly, the Tarnol police team arrested an accused namely Aqib Hussain and recovered 1411 gram heroin from his possession. The Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Nabeel and recovered 123 gram heroin from his possession.
Moreover, the Sabzi Mandi police arrested an accused namely Sikandar and recovered a 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During a special crackdown against professional beggars’ PS Sabzi Mandi and Secretariat arrested eight handlers of professional beggars.
