ISLAMABAD: Islamabad capital police apprehended four criminals including drug paddlers from different areas and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Nilore police apprehended an accused namely Saqib Hafeez and recovered a 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Likewise, the Tarnol police arrested an accused namely Muhammad Ijaz Hussain and recovered 1445 gram heroin and 620 gram hashish from his possession. Shams Colony police arrested an accused namely Muhammad Abdullah and recovered 1750 gram hashish, 125 grams heroine from his possession.
Sihala police arrested accused namely Naeem Akhtar and recovered 30 bore pistol with ammunitions from his possession
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he added.
