Dr Saif replaces Murtaza Wahab as Karachi administrator

KARACHI, Dec 08 (NNI): On the demand of a coalition partner, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government replaced Karachi administrator Murtaza Wahab with Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman on Thursday.
The Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department has issued the notification of Dr Saif as Karachi Administrator with immediate effect.
Earlier, PPP’s administrator Murtaza Wahab tendered his resignation on the advice of the party leadership which was immediately accepted.
On Thursday, PPP agreed to change the Karachi Administrator on the demand of MQM-P.
As per sources, a meeting has been concluded at the Chief Minister’s House that was presided over by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in which the matter was discussed.
During the meeting, it was evaluated whether the resignation of Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab should be accepted or not.
MQM-P has suggested the name of Abdul Waseem for the post of Karachi Administrator.
Sources revealed that the participants of the meeting has been agreed to appoint Dr Saif-Ur-Rehman as Karachi Administrator. NNI
