RAWALPINDI: In a valiant effort to disrupt the ongoing polio campaign in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan District, terrorists attacked members of a polio team Wednesday. Swift action by security forces, who were assigned to protect the team, thwarted the attack and ensured the safety of all team members.
Unfortunately, the ISPR said during the ensuing exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists, Sepoy Saqib Ur Rehman, a 25-year-old resident of District Mardan, laid down his life in the line of duty, attaining martyrdom. His sacrifice is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces in their relentless battle against terrorism, ISPR statement added.
Efforts are underway to sanitize the area and eliminate any remaining terrorists present. The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the bravery displayed by our soldiers serves to strengthen this resolve.
