RAWALPINDI: In a tragic incident Wednesday, a vehicle-borne suicide bomber detonated himself in the general area of Miranshah, located in the North Waziristan District. ISPR statement said the attack resulted in the martyrdom of three military personnel, while three innocent civilians sustained critical injuries.
The martyred soldiers have been identified as Naib Subedar Sahib Khan, aged 41 and hailing from Mianwali, Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, aged 40 and a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, and Sepoy Jehangir Khan, aged 24 and originally from Mardan.
The suicide bomber had intended to target a security forces’ post, but due to the vigilance and swift action of the on-duty soldiers, the attack was intercepted, preventing a major catastrophe.
The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers only strengthen our resolve. The injured civilians are currently receiving medical treatment, and efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing threats faced by security forces in their tireless efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. The nation mourns the loss of these brave individuals and stands united in the fight against terrorism.
