ISLAMABAD: General Secretary CDA Liberal Union, Amanullah Khan, and the vocal leader Tina Bhai held a crucial meeting to discuss the concerns of officers and employees.
During the meeting, which lasted for more than an hour, various topics related to the issues faced by CDA officers and employees were extensively discussed. The leaders engaged in detailed conversations about employee plots, recruitment of children, promotions, time-scale promotions, deportations, excessive impositions on CDA officers and employees, inquiries, FIRs, suspensions, violations of human rights, appointments of junior officers to senior positions, issues faced by disabled individuals, challenges within the Christian community, women/widows’ concerns, pensioners’ issues, field staff problems, and abuses of power in deportations, including thorough discussions on medical reports submitted to the HR department.
The People’s Party leaders emphasized their commitment to championing the rights of the poor, workers, and employees. They reiterated the party’s long-standing slogan of Roti, Kapra, Makan (Bread, Clothing, Shelter), originally coined by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Additionally, they made it clear that retaliatory actions and any form of exploitation of employees would not be tolerated. The People’s Party leadership pledged to safeguard the rights of workers and employees, stressing that no one should be allowed to violate human rights or subject employees to humiliation.
Furthermore, the leaders underscored that no officer is above the law and emphasized the importance of officers operating within the boundaries of constitutional law. They emphasized the need to address any unlawful actions by officers with strict measures.
The CDA officers and employees’ concerns will be elevated to the highest levels, and the leadership of the People’s Party and PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement) will be kept informed about all relevant matters.
In a video message issued after the meeting, the Commissioner of Islamabad and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, and Raja Imran Ashraf expressed their reservations regarding the resolution of all the issues raised by CDA officers and employees, indicating that further actions may be required to address these concerns effectively.
