Gas theft crack dawn: 188 more gas connections disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad

LAHORE (Staff Reporter) Gas Theft Crack Dawn: Another 188 gas connections were disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, 277 under-billing cases were processed and fines of more than 8 million were imposed under Sui Northern in different areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. During the ongoing crackdown against gas theft, 188 more gas connections were disconnected, 277 under-billing cases were processed. More than 80 lakh fines were imposed on people involved in gas theft. Lahore region foiled gas theft scheme, illegal 300. Northern Gas disconnected 10 domestic connections due to illegal use of gas and 09 connections due to use of compressor while 40 under-billing cases were processed and fines of one million rupees were also imposed by Northern Gas. Taking action in Bahawalpur, the regional team disconnected 08 connections due to use of compressors and 03 connections due to illegal use of gas. In Multan, the regional team disconnected 18 gas connections for illegal use and 12 connections for compressor usage while 06 under-billing cases were processed. In Sheikhupura, 21 connections were disconnected for direct use of gas and illegal extension while 66 under-billing cases were processed. 47 connections were disconnected by Sui Northern Gas in Peshawar for meter tampering, direct use of gas, illegal connections and fines of Rs.1 million were also imposed. Regional team disconnected 05 gas connections in Rawalpindi. In Mardan, 04 connections were disconnected for direct use of gas, illegal connections while 100 under-billing cases were processed. The regional team also imposed fines of Rs 18 lakh on the gas thieves. In Sialkot, three gas connections were disconnected for using compressors while two connections were disconnected for illegal use. The regional team also imposed fines of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand on gas thieves. 28 under-billing cases were processed in Sargodha. In Gujranwala, the regional team processed 149 under-billing cases, 14 meters for illegal use and 06 meters were disconnected for use of compressors and fines of Rs 10 lakh were also imposed.
Three connections were disconnected during operations in Gujarat on illegal use of gas. 08 connections were disconnected due to illegal use of gas in federal capital Islamabad. 06 gas connections were disconnected in Sahiwal due to illegal use of gas. In Faisalabad, the regional team disconnected 04 meters for tampering with meters, 03 meters for using compressors and 23 under-billing cases were processed during Crack Dawn. Moreover, another major action was taken in Lahore. A fake line laid 300 feet in the street from Sabzazar area was caught, which was a plan to steal gas by connecting it to the gas main line. Action has been initiated against the Orgas thieves in the concerned police station
