ISCO continues to crack down on electricity thieves

Islamabad (City Reporter) According to the press release issued by ISCO spokesperson, in the light of the orders of the Government of Pakistan and the Ministry of Energy, all the operation circles of Islamabad Electric Supply Company ISCO, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi City, Rawalpindi Cantt, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal, have been charged with electricity theft. The series of operations against is continuing successfully, in which the electricity thieves are facing heavy fines as well as jail time. According to the current details of ISCO spokesperson, on the 34th day, ISCO teams checked 4 thousand 846 electricity meters, out of which electricity is being stolen from 42 meters. was More than 1 lakh 8 thousand 476 units were charged and fines of more than 50 lakh 18 thousand were imposed on the concerned consumers for stealing electricity. The police registered an FIR and arrested 2 people. During the ongoing campaign to prevent electricity theft, ISCO’s detection teams checked a total of more than 1 lakh 7 thousand 33 meters, out of which 25 lakh 70 thousand 236 electricity from 1 thousand 767 meters. For the illegal use of the units, fines of more than 1188827666 were imposed on the concerned consumers and the electricity connections of the people who used direct electricity and tampered the meters were cut off and the meters were removed. For legal action, 399 F against electricity thieves. IRs were registered and 307 people were arrested by the police for stealing electricity. Consumers are requested to report electricity thieves on ISCO Helpline No. 118 or Complaint and Monitoring Cell No. 0519252933 so that these thieves are brought to justice by taking timely action.
