Gas theft crack dawn: 160 more gas connections disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad

LAHORE (Bureau Report) Gas Theft Crack Dawn: 160 more gas connections were disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, 235 under-billing cases were registered/processed and fines of more than 3.38 million were imposed under Sui Northern in different areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. During the ongoing crackdown against gas theft, 160 more gas connections have been disconnected, 235 under-billing cases have been registered/processed. More than 338 lakh fines have been imposed on people involved in gas theft. Sui Northern Gas has disconnected 12 domestic connections for illegal use of gas, 05 connections for use of compressors and registered/processed 14 under-billing cases and booked an amount of 11 million in Bahawalpur. 06 connections were disconnected due to the use of compressors and 21 under-billing cases were processed/registered. In Mardan, the team disconnected 11 connections due to illegal use of gas, while an amount of 0.28 million was also booked. In Multan, the regional team processed 21 under-billing cases besides 16 disconnections on illegal usage and 03 on compressor usage and an amount of 3.11 million was also booked. Sui Northern Gas registered/processed 3 FIRs against meter tampering, direct consumption of gas, illegal 60 disconnections and 11 under-billing cases in Peshawar and Kirk, gas theft and fines of over 20 lakhs were imposed. In Gujjar-Anwala, the regional team took action and disconnected 02 connections for illegal use, while disconnected 03 for use of compressors and 49 under-billing cases were booked/processed amounting to 0.25 million. In Islamabad, the team cut 14 connections during the operation. In Rawalpindi, 04 connections were disconnected. In Sheikhupora, 17 were processed for illegal use of gas, while 60 under-billings were processed and an amount of 3.01 million was also booked. 2 under-billing cases were processed in Sialkot. 0.0504 million was also registered and 0.0504 million was also booked. 02 and 57 under-billing cases were processed by the regional team in Faisalabad during the crackdown on meter tampering and illegal use. And the team also booked an amount of 14.1 in under-billing cases during the proceedings.
In Sahiwal, 2 connections were cut for illegal use of gas while one connection was cut for use of compressor.
