ISLAMABAD: In a significant diplomatic development, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani hosted a delegation led by Haji Mullah Shirin, Governor of Kandahar and Deputy Head of Military Intelligence and Strategy of Afghanistan. The discussions revolved around crucial matters of mutual interest, prominently focusing on peace, security, and fostering people-to-people connections.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Jilani reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to sustained collaboration and mutually advantageous relations with Afghanistan. He emphasized the paramount importance of addressing shared concerns to fully exploit the potential for regional trade and connectivity.
Haji Mullah Shirin, in turn, expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its longstanding and generous support to millions of Afghans over four decades. Both parties pledged to uphold high-level engagement and dialogue, seeking to fortify bilateral ties for a more secure and prosperous future.
The Afghan delegation, led by Haji Mullah Shirin, actively participated in the 6th session of the Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Coordination Committee (JCC). The JCC meeting delved into strategic coordination mechanisms aimed at facilitating cross-border movements and enhancing people-to-people interactions.
As tensions ease and diplomatic efforts intensify, this high-profile engagement signals a positive stride towards fostering regional stability and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
