ISLAMABAD: Five Chinese and one Pakistani national were killed Tuesday in a fatal terrorist attack near Besham in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Government of Pakistan strongly condemns this heinous act of terrorism. We will take all necessary measures to bring the terrorists and their facilitators to justice. Such dastardly acts cannot dent the resolve of Pakistani nation to fight against the scourge of terrorism, said Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson in a statement issued here.
Today’s attack was orchestrated by the enemies of Pakistan-China friendship. We will resolutely act against all such forces and defeat them, it added.
The people and government of Pakistan stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Chinese friends in this difficult time and extend sincere condolences to the families of the Chinese nationals killed in the attack.
Pakistan and China are close friends and iron brothers. The life and safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan is of paramount importance. FO spokesperson said Pakistan will continue to work with our Chinese brothers in ensuring the safety and security of Chinese nationals, projects and institutions in Pakistan.
Statement from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan on the terrorist attack on the Dasu Hydropower Station project said
at around 1:00 pm local time on the afternoon of March 26, a vehicle for the Dasu Hydropower Station Project in Cape Province, which was constructed by a Chinese company, was attacked by a terrorist attack on the way, killing five Chinese personnel and one Pakistani personnel.
The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan strongly condemn this terrorist act, express deep condolences for the victims in both countries, and extend sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims. They are working with Pakistan to promote the aftermath of the incident.
The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan have initiated emergency response work as soon as possible, requiring Pakistan to conduct a thorough investigation of the attack, severely punish the perpetrators, and at the same time take practical and effective measures to protect the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in Pakistan, and ensure that similar incidents will not happen again.
The Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan remind Chinese citizens and companies in Pakistan to pay close attention to the local security situation, improve security levels, strengthen security measures, and make every effort to take safety precautions.
