Punjab Police intensified the intelligence-based search, sweep, and combing operations

Lahore:Under the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, intelligence-based search, sweep, and combing operations are ongoing across the province. Continuing this crackdown, Punjab Police conducted 45 search and sweep operations in the last 24 hours, during which 1,533 individuals were questioned and 4 suspects were arrested. Providing further details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that 357 combing operations were carried out, involving the screening of 9,546 suspicious individuals, leading to the detention of 36 suspects. During these operations, a total of 147 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, 65 court absconders, and 27 habitual criminals were apprehended. A significant quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of criminal and suspicious elements. During action against criminals, 2 were neutralized, while 3 were arrested in injured condition. IGP Punjab emphasized that mock exercises by Punjab Police are also underway to counter terrorists and criminal elements. Teams from Punjab Police, CTD (Counter Terrorism Department), Special Branch, Elite Force, Rescue 1122, and other law enforcement agencies are actively participating in these exercises.
