Khanzada irks over absence of doctors, paucity of medicines in THQ hospital Hazro

ATTOCK: Member district monitoring committee and former provincial Minister Jahangir Khanzada on Friday took exception of absence of doctor at emergency, paucity of specialists and medicines during his surprise visit to tehsil headquarters hospital Hazro on Friday. Flanked with city PML President Malik Ansar Ahmed and Dr Zaffran Alizai, Mr Khanzada paid surprise visit to tehsil headquarters hospital Hazro in connection to monitor and review the public delivery by the public department. During his visit he found absence of duty medical officer (DMO) in the emergency department besides paucity of medicines and specialist doctors in the hospital. During his interaction with the patients and their attendants, he was informed that the post of surgeon is vacant since long and in case of fatal emergencies and road accidents, patients are referred to district headquarters hospital Attock in which most of the critical patients succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital. Moreover, female patients were informed that in case of delivery and gyne related issues, there is no female doctor available in the hospital in the evening. Moreover, the indoor patients complain about paucity of medicines in the hospital as they were not issued insulin, so poor patients have to buy medicines on their own. He also took serious notice of suspension of work at the trauma center from last one year. On this occasion, the former minister directed the Medical Superintendent Shoukat Khan to made comprehensive plan to address the paucity of staff and medicines in the hospital and in this connection he would play his pivotal role for availability of necessary funds and manpower.

Speaking on this occasion, member district monitoring committee and former provincial Minister Jahangir Khanzada has said that the monitoring committee is constituted to address the public problems and review as well as improve public service delivery of public departments especially of the district and provincial government. He said that he would pay surprise visits to all government departments including school, colleges, health centers as well as other departments to address public complaints and to improve their public service delivery.

Responding to a question, he said that the country will move forward and progress economically under the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and Maryium Nawaz. He added that the PML government gave the biggest Ramzan package in history. Responding to a question, Mr Khanzada has said that the present government’s first priority is improvement of the economy.
