ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, engaged in substantive discussions with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, Monday. The dialogue emphasized the pivotal role of collaboration between the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran and the National Assembly of Pakistan, both bilaterally and within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment to leverage parliamentary platforms to enrich and fortify bilateral relations, fostering people-to-people cooperation. Both sides expressed enthusiasm for utilizing parliamentary channels to deepen mutual understanding and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.
Furthermore, discussions encompassed regional dynamics and the imperative of joint efforts to address common challenges, emphasizing the importance of sustained engagement and dialogue in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
President Raisi commended the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Iran, highlighting the significance of parliamentary exchanges in bolstering ties and advancing shared goals. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq echoed these sentiments, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and collaboration on regional and international platforms.
